Bare is an invitation to shed the dead weight in order to reveal what lies at the core. From this inner state of wholeness, down to the essence, the alluring paradox is that nothing can really be taken away anymore, for everything truly needed is there, and faithfully remains. These ten paintings and wall sculptures made primarily from hand-foraged wood fibers, botanical pigments, and wild clay, were conceived with the intention to convey depth of feeling through a multitude of raw and natural textures engaging the senses of the viewer. These various material states hint at the many layers one sheds in the release of personal hindrances, and the myriad of emotions arising in the process.
